Sehrawat hails from Haryana, a state that has long been a stronghold of Indian kabaddi and has produced a large share of the country's top professional raiders. He took up kabaddi at a young age and progressed through state and domestic competitions before being signed by a Pro Kabaddi League franchise.
Sehrawat rose to national prominence with the Bengaluru Bulls in the Pro Kabaddi League. He became the franchise's principal raider and played a central role in the team's title-winning campaign in Season 6 (2018), in which the Bulls defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants in the final. During his time with Bengaluru, he established himself among the league's leading point-scorers and won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for Season 6.
In a Season 7 fixture against Haryana Steelers, Sehrawat produced one of the highest individual raid-point tallies in PKL history, a performance that further cemented his reputation as the league's most dangerous attacking raider.
Ahead of Season 9, Sehrawat was acquired by the Tamil Thalaivas in the PKL auction for a record bid that made him, at the time, the most expensive player in the league's history. He was named captain of the franchise. An injury sustained during the season limited his appearances and impact for the Thalaivas.
In subsequent auctions, Sehrawat was signed by the Telugu Titans, where he again featured as captain and lead raider, and continued to be among the highest-priced players in the auction pool. He has also been associated with Puneri Paltan in the league.
Sehrawat has represented the senior India national kabaddi team. He was part of the Indian squad at the 2022 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China (staged in 2023), where India won the gold medal in men's kabaddi, restoring the country to the top of the podium in the sport at the Asian Games.
Sehrawat is primarily a bonus-point raider who relies on speed, leg work, and high-jump escapes to clear the bonus line and the baulk line. His signature aerial dives, in which he leaps over defenders to reach the mid-line, are the basis of his "Hi-Flyer" tag. He is also known for his stamina across long raids and his ability to rack up Super 10s (10 or more raid points in a single match) consistently.
Sehrawat is considered one of the defining raiders of the Pro Kabaddi League era. His record-breaking auction valuations have been cited as evidence of the commercial maturing of professional kabaddi in India, while his on-mat performances have helped popularise the aggressive, bonus-led raiding style that dominates the modern game.
