Dwivedi entered the Hindi film industry in 2008, taking on a leading role in his first feature. While his early acting career placed him in productions by established directors and studios, most of his films saw limited commercial success at the box office.
Dwivedi made his acting debut with the 2008 crime comedy My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, in which he played the lead. The film underperformed commercially. He followed it with appearances in Mani Ratnam's Raavan (2010), the ensemble drama Shor in the City (2011), the erotic thriller Hate Story (2012) and Tamanchey (2014). Most of these films were met with limited commercial success.
He returned to acting with the web series Scam 1992 (2020), in which he portrayed the antagonist.
Dwivedi moved into production with the 2018 comedy Veere Di Wedding. He subsequently produced the television series Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran (2019–2020) and the action film Dabangg 3 (2019). In 2024, he produced the Netflix thriller CTRL.
Dwivedi's career illustrates a trajectory increasingly common in contemporary Hindi cinema, where actors with mixed box-office records as performers move into production roles. His producing slate spans women-led mainstream comedies, mythological television, big-budget action sequels and streaming-era thrillers, reflecting the diversification of Indian screen content across theatrical, television and OTT formats.
