The campus is situated on the Agra–Bombay Road (AB Road) at Pigdamber, on the outskirts of Indore, within the Indore–Pithampur industrial belt of western Madhya Pradesh.
The university is organised into several faculties and schools that offer undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programmes. Major academic divisions include:
The university also runs research and Ph.D. programmes across these faculties.
As a private university, Medicaps University functions under a Board of Governors and an academic council, with a Chancellor as the ceremonial head and a Vice-Chancellor as the chief academic and administrative officer. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the provisions applicable to state private universities.
The campus at Pigdamber houses academic blocks, laboratories, a central library, hostels for men and women, sports facilities, and an auditorium. Indore, the largest city of Madhya Pradesh, is a major educational hub of central India and hosts several other universities and institutes, including the Indian Institute of Management Indore and the Indian Institute of Technology Indore, with which the city's higher-education ecosystem is associated.
Medicaps University is among the private universities that emerged in Madhya Pradesh after the state opened the higher-education sector to self-financed institutions. It contributes to the technical and professional education capacity of the Indore region, which is one of the principal centres of higher learning in central India.
