Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNUJC), also known as Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya or simply Makhanlal University, is a public university located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is dedicated to the study and teaching of journalism, mass communication and allied disciplines, and is regarded as India's first university devoted to journalism and mass communication.

The university is named after Makhan Lal Chaturvedi, a noted freedom fighter, poet and journalist. It was established in 1992 through an Act of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, reflecting an effort by the state to develop institutional capacity in media education and research.

MCNUJC is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), which connect it with the wider community of higher education institutions in India and across the Commonwealth.
