Overview

Maharshi Valmiki Sanskrit University (MVSU) is a state university located in Mundri village of Kaithal district in the Indian state of Haryana. It was established in 2018 by the Government of Haryana, with a focus on the study of Sanskrit. The university is named after the sage Valmiki, traditionally regarded as the author of the Ramayana.

The campus is situated approximately 12 kilometres east of Kaithal town. It lies about 111 kilometres from the state capital, Chandigarh, and around 164 kilometres from the National Capital Region of New Delhi.

As a Sanskrit-focused institution under the state government, the university is intended to support teaching and learning in Sanskrit and allied disciplines within Haryana.
