The university's jurisdiction covers government and private health sciences colleges throughout Madhya Pradesh, including government medical colleges, dental colleges, nursing schools, ayurvedic and homoeopathic colleges, and a wide range of paramedical institutions.
Academic programmes affiliated to MPMSU are governed in line with the standards laid down by the relevant central regulators, including the National Medical Commission, the Dental Council of India, the Indian Nursing Council, the Pharmacy Council of India, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine and the National Commission for Homoeopathy.
