M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering (often abbreviated as MKCE) is an Indian self-financing technical institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, technology and management. The college is located in Karur, a town in the western part of Tamil Nadu, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, the principal technical university for engineering colleges across the state.
The institution is part of the educational initiatives of the M. Kumarasamy group, named after its patron, and functions as a co-educational residential and day-scholar campus drawing students primarily from Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states. It is one of several engineering colleges that have come up in the Karur–Tiruchirappalli–Erode belt to serve the technical education needs of central and western Tamil Nadu.

MKCE offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes across core and applied branches of engineering. Typical disciplines available at such Anna University–affiliated colleges, and offered at MKCE, include:
At the postgraduate level, the college offers Master of Engineering (M.E.) programmes in selected specialisations along with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. Curricula, examinations and degree awarding follow the regulations of Anna University, while the college conducts its own internal assessments, laboratory work and project evaluations.
Several departments host research activity through faculty-led projects, student final-year projects and industry-sponsored work. Faculty members are encouraged to publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences, in line with the broader push for research output among Tamil Nadu's engineering colleges.
The campus is situated on the outskirts of Karur and includes academic blocks for individual departments, central administrative offices, laboratories, workshops, drawing halls, seminar halls and an auditorium. A central library supports academic work with textbooks, reference volumes, periodicals and access to online journal databases commonly subscribed to by engineering institutions.
Other typical facilities on campus include:
Undergraduate admissions to MKCE are governed by the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu, on the basis of higher secondary (Class 12) marks in the qualifying subjects. Seats are divided between the government quota, allotted through TNEA single-window counselling, and the management quota, filled by the institution as per applicable norms.
Postgraduate admissions to M.E. programmes are conducted through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) counselling, while MBA admissions also use TANCET scores in line with Anna University procedures. Lateral entry into the second year of B.E./B.Tech is available for diploma holders through the relevant state-level lateral entry process.
Student life at MKCE is organised around departmental associations, technical clubs and cultural societies. Departments typically host annual technical symposia featuring paper presentations, project exhibitions, coding contests and quizzes, drawing participants from neighbouring engineering colleges. The institution also conducts an annual cultural festival with literary, musical and performing arts events.
