Luke Jongwe

Overview

Luke Mafuwa Jongwe (born 6 February 1995) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He is a right-handed batter and a right-arm medium pace bowler, who plays as an all-rounder for the Zimbabwe national side.

Jongwe was selected for a series of three One Day Internationals against South Africa when the visiting side toured Zimbabwe in August 2014. He made his ODI debut at Harare Sports Club on 17 August 2014, bowling six overs for 45 runs without taking a wicket, and contributing 19 runs with the bat in a losing cause. He went on to make his Twenty20 International debut against Pakistan on 27 September 2015.

In December 2020, Jongwe was selected to play for the Tuskers in the 2020–21 Logan Cup, Zimbabwe's domestic first-class competition. In April 2021, he was named in Zimbabwe's squad for their Twenty20 International series against Pakistan, marking a return to the international set-up more than five years after his previous appearance. On 26 April 2021, he was also named in Zimbabwe's Test squad for the same tour, and he made his Test debut for Zimbabwe against Pakistan on 7 May 2021.
