Keerthy Suresh was born into a Malayali film family. Her father, G. Suresh Kumar, is a film producer in the Malayalam industry, and her mother, Menaka, was a popular actress in Malayalam cinema during the 1980s. She has an elder sister, Revathy Suresh. Keerthy appeared as a child artiste in Malayalam films during the 2000s before pursuing fashion designing at the Pearl Academy of Fashion in Delhi.
Keerthy made her debut as a lead actress with the Malayalam film Geethaanjali (2013), directed by Priyadarshan. She followed this with the Tamil film Idhu Enna Maayam (2015) opposite Vikram Prabhu, marking her entry into Tamil cinema. Her Telugu debut came with Nenu Sailaja (2016) alongside Ram Pothineni, which became a commercial success and established her in Telugu cinema.
