The Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute (KMCRI) is a government medical college located in Hubli in the state of Karnataka, India. It is one of the older state-run medical institutions in northern Karnataka and provides undergraduate and postgraduate training in medicine, along with clinical services through its attached teaching hospital.

KMCRI functions as a state government medical college in the twin cities of Hubli–Dharwad, a major urban and educational centre in the northern part of Karnataka. The college caters to a large catchment area covering several districts of north Karnataka, where it serves as both a teaching institution and a tertiary care referral centre. The institution is administered under the Department of Medical Education of the Government of Karnataka.
The college offers the undergraduate MBBS programme along with postgraduate degrees and diplomas across the major clinical, paraclinical and preclinical specialities. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in Bengaluru, which conducts examinations and awards degrees for medical colleges across Karnataka. Admissions to MBBS and postgraduate seats are made through the centralised counselling processes based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.
The teaching hospital attached to the college is one of the largest public hospitals in north Karnataka, providing inpatient, outpatient, emergency and specialty services. Departments include general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, anaesthesiology, radiology, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, community medicine and forensic medicine, among others.
As a government-run medical college and tertiary hospital, KMCRI plays an important role in subsidised healthcare delivery for residents of Hubli–Dharwad and the surrounding districts. It also contributes to the medical workforce of the region by training MBBS graduates and specialists, and supports public health initiatives undertaken by the state government.
