Jiwaji University (JU) is a public collegiate university located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was previously known as Gwalior University. The institution takes its name from Sir Jiwajirao Scindia, the Maratha ruler of Gwalior.
The university was established on 23 May 1964. The foundation stone of the campus was laid on 11 December 1964 by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India.
Jiwaji University is fully accredited by the Government of India and functions as a collegiate university, with affiliated colleges contributing to its academic activities.
