Jiban Ghosh (1935–2004) was an Indian cricket umpire. He was among the umpires drawn from the domestic cricket circuit in India during the latter half of the twentieth century, a period in which umpiring panels were maintained by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and its affiliated state associations to officiate in tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy and other first-class competitions.

Umpires of Ghosh's generation typically progressed through state-level cricket associations before being inducted into the national panel maintained by the BCCI. Domestic umpires officiated in matches of the Ranji Trophy (the premier first-class competition in India, instituted in 1934), the Duleep Trophy (instituted 1961), and the Irani Trophy (instituted 1959), among other tournaments organised under the BCCI.
Indian first-class umpiring during the 1960s through the 1990s was administered through the BCCI's umpires' committee, which maintained panels for first-class fixtures and recommended officials for international duty. The introduction of the International Cricket Council (ICC) International Panel in 1994 and later the Elite Panel in 2002 transformed the structure within which Indian umpires operated.
