Jeeva built his early career behind the camera, working as a cinematographer in Indian cinema during a period of significant stylistic change in the late 1990s. His work spanned multiple film industries, with assignments across Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam productions.
By the late 1990s and early 2000s, Jeeva had become an established cinematographer. He subsequently moved into direction, working as a filmmaker in addition to continuing his association with cinematography. His multilingual career placed him within the broader cross-industry practice that became increasingly common among Indian technicians of his generation.
Jeeva's career is notable for its reach across three of India's major film industries — Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam — both as a cinematographer and as a director. His relatively short career was cut short by his death in 2007.
