The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is a medical school located in Pondicherry, India. It is designated an Institute of National Importance (INI) and also functions as a tertiary care referral hospital, catering to patients from across the region.

JIPMER is under the direct administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. While it operates within the framework set by the Union Government, it has been granted autonomy to manage its internal administration.
