Janhvi Kapoor is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi-language films. The elder daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and actress Sridevi, she made her acting debut in 2018 with the romantic drama Dhadak, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions. She has since worked across genres including drama, horror-comedy, sports biopic, and action.

Janhvi Kapoor was born in Mumbai into a prominent film family. She is the niece of actor Anil Kapoor and the cousin of actors Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah. She studied at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and later trained in acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in the United States before her film debut.
Kapoor made her acting debut in Dhadak (2018), opposite Ishaan Khatter. The film was a Hindi adaptation of the Marathi film Sairat (2016) and was released in July 2018, a few months after the death of her mother Sridevi in February 2018. The performance earned her a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Female Debut.
She appeared as Captain Gunjan Saxena, one of the first women officers of the Indian Air Force to fly in a combat zone, in the biographical drama Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), directed by Sharan Sharma and released on Netflix. The same year she featured in the horror-comedy Roohi (2021), directed by Hardik Mehta and produced by Maddock Films.
Other notable films include Good Luck Jerry (2022), a remake of the Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila; Mili (2022), a survival thriller produced by her father Boney Kapoor; and Bawaal (2023), directed by Nitesh Tiwari, in which she co-starred with Varun Dhawan.
In 2024, she appeared in Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, a cricket-themed drama opposite Rajkummar Rao, and Ulajh. She also made her Telugu cinema debut with Devara: Part 1 (2024), directed by Koratala Siva, opposite N. T. Rama Rao Jr.
Kapoor has been associated with brand endorsements and fashion campaigns and has appeared on the cover of several Indian magazines. She has spoken publicly about losing her mother and about her interest in continuing the cinematic legacy of her family.
