Overview

The JSW Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Part of the larger O. P. Background

The JSW Group traces its origins to the O. P. Jindal Group, founded by industrialist Om Prakash Jindal in 1952. Following the reorganisation of the Jindal family businesses, JSW emerged as the entity led by Sajjan Jindal, one of O. P. Jindal's sons. The "JSW" branding was adopted as the group expanded beyond its original steel base into multiple verticals.

Business divisions

Steel

JSW Steel Limited is the group's flagship company and one of India's largest steel producers. Its principal manufacturing complex is located at Vijayanagar in Karnataka, with additional facilities at Dolvi in Maharashtra, Salem in Tamil Nadu, and other downstream units. JSW Steel is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India.

Energy

JSW Energy Limited operates power generation assets across thermal, hydro, and renewable segments. The company has expanded its renewable energy portfolio in recent years, including through its subsidiary focused on green energy and storage.

Infrastructure

JSW Infrastructure Limited develops and operates ports and related logistics assets in India. It made its debut on the Indian stock exchanges in 2023.

Cement

JSW Cement manufactures Portland slag cement, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, and related products, with operations leveraging slag generated from JSW Steel plants.

Paints

JSW Paints, launched in 2019, manufactures decorative and industrial paints and competes in the Indian paints market.

Sports

The group's sports arm, JSW Sports, owns and supports several professional teams and athletes. Its holdings include the Delhi Capitals franchise (co-owned) in the Indian Premier League and the Bengaluru FC club in Indian football. JSW Sports also runs the Inspire Institute of Sport in Vijayanagar, a high-performance training centre supporting Indian Olympic athletes.
