Building on this base, JECRC University was constituted as a multidisciplinary private university through a state legislative act in Rajasthan, allowing it to award its own degrees in addition to running technical and professional programmes.

Academics

The university is organised into schools and departments covering a range of disciplines. Programmes are typically offered at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. Areas of teaching and research include:

  • Engineering and technology, including computer science, electronics, mechanical, civil, and electrical streams
  • Management and commerce

The campus is situated on the outskirts of Jaipur and houses academic blocks, laboratories, hostels, libraries, and sports facilities. Jaipur, where the university is located, is a major centre for higher education in northern India and hosts several public and private universities.

Significance

JECRC University is part of the wider expansion of private higher education in Rajasthan during the 2000s and 2010s, when the state government enabled the establishment of a number of self-financed universities through dedicated legislation. Together with other Jaipur-based institutions, it contributes to the city's role as a regional hub for engineering, management, and professional education.
