Ishan Porel is an Indian cricketer who plays as a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He came to national attention as part of the India squad that won the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018, and has subsequently played first-class and List A cricket in the Indian domestic circuit, primarily for Bengal.

Porel was born and raised in Chandannagar, a town in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. He came up through age-group cricket in the state under the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) before progressing to India's youth setup.
Porel was selected in the India squad for the 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand. He featured as a strike bowler in the tournament and produced a notable spell in the semi-final against Pakistan, where his early wickets helped restrict the opposition. India went on to win the tournament under captain Prithvi Shaw, lifting the title for a record fourth time.
Porel made his senior domestic debut for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and subsequently appeared in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A) and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (Twenty20) competitions. He has been part of Bengal sides that have featured in the latter stages of the Ranji Trophy, including the 2019–20 season in which Bengal reached the final.
Porel has been part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) ecosystem, having been signed by Kings XI Punjab (later renamed Punjab Kings) in the IPL auction following his Under-19 World Cup performances.
Porel is regarded as a tall seam bowler who relies on bounce, away movement and an upright seam. His emergence formed part of a broader trend of fast bowling talent emerging from Bengal during the late 2010s, alongside contemporaries developed through the CAB age-group structure.
