The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur (IIIT Nagpur or IIITN) is a public technical institute located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. It is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology established under the public–private partnership (PPP) model, with funding shared between the Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, and industry partners. IIIT Nagpur is part of a national network of IIITs created by the Ministry of Education (formerly the Ministry of Human Resource Development) to expand higher education capacity in information technology. Under the PPP scheme, the central government, the state government, and one or more industry partners contribute to capital and operating costs, while the institute functions with academic autonomy.
The Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017, along with subsequent amendments, declared the PPP-mode IIITs as Institutes of National Importance, allowing them to grant their own degrees.
The institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes in fields associated with computer science, information technology, and electronics and communication engineering. It also offers postgraduate programmes and doctoral research in computing and related areas.
