I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), formerly known as Punjab Technical University (PTU), is a public state university located in Kapurthala, Punjab, India. The university was established by an Act of the State Legislature on 16 January 1997.
The institution was set up to promote technical and professional education in the state of Punjab. It was later renamed in honour of Inder Kumar Gujral, a former Prime Minister of India.
