I. Gopalakrishnan (1915–1981) was an Indian cricket umpire. He is recorded among Indian cricket officials of the mid-twentieth century, a period during which the country's domestic competition, the Ranji Trophy, expanded steadily and India established itself as a Test-playing nation.

Cricket umpiring in India during Gopalakrishnan's lifetime was largely organised through state and zonal cricket associations affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), founded in 1928. Umpires of his generation typically officiated in first-class fixtures of the Ranji Trophy, which was inaugurated in 1934, as well as in zonal tournaments such as the Duleep Trophy, instituted in 1961.
Indian umpires active between the 1940s and the 1970s contributed to the development of standardised match officiating in the country's first-class competitions. Their work supported the consolidation of domestic cricket structures that produced the players representing India in international cricket during the same period.
