IIMT University is a state private university located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university traces its origin to the IIMT group of educational institutions, which had been operating colleges in the Meerut and Greater Noida region prior to the establishment of the university. IIMT University was constituted as a private university by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, bringing several of the group's academic programmes under a single university framework with degree-granting authority.
The campus is situated on the Mawana Road in Meerut, a city in western Uttar Pradesh that is part of the National Capital Region (NCR). Meerut is a long-established educational and commercial centre, and the university adds to a cluster of higher education institutions in the district.
