Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is a public law school located in New Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. It is one of the National Law Universities in India and is named after Mohammad Hidayatullah, a former Chief Justice of India. The university is recognised as a centre for legal education and is the seventh in the series of national law schools established in the country.
HNLU was established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh Act (Act No. 10 of 2003). It functions as an autonomous institution dedicated to legal studies and research, and operates as a residential university.
The university offers an integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme, an LL.M. programme, and a doctoral (PhD) course. It receives central assistance from the University Grants Commission and is recognised by the Bar Council of India.
