Hashmatullah Shahidi (Pashto: حشمت الله شاهدي; born 4 November 1994) is an Afghan cricketer who serves as the captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Test cricket. A top-order batter, he has been associated with Afghan cricket since his teenage years.
Shahidi made his ODI debut for Afghanistan against Kenya in October 2013. He went on to become a regular member of the national side across formats, establishing himself as one of the team's leading batters in the longer formats of the game.
He was among the eleven cricketers selected to play in Afghanistan's first ever Test match, which was contested against India in June 2018. The fixture marked Afghanistan's entry into Test cricket, and Shahidi's inclusion placed him in the country's inaugural Test eleven.
On 11 March 2021, Shahidi became the first Afghan player to score a Test double hundred, finishing unbeaten on 200 in a match against Zimbabwe. The innings was a milestone for Afghan cricket, marking the first instance of a batter from the country reaching the 200-run mark in the Test format.
