Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) is a state university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The university is dedicated to teaching and research in the fields of journalism and mass communication, and is named after Haridev Joshi, a former Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
An earlier university with a similar name but a slightly different abbreviation (HJUJ) was first established in 2012 through an Act of the Government of Rajasthan under the then Indian National Congress state government. This earlier institution was closed in 2015 under the subsequent Bharatiya Janata Party state government.
Following the return of the Congress government to power in December 2018, a new university for journalism and mass communication — HJU — was constituted through the Rajasthan State Legislature's Act No. 11 of 2019. The university was set up at the premises of the historical Khasa Kothi in Jaipur.
