Greg Hay

Overview

Gregory Robert Hay (born 14 July 1984) is a former New Zealand first-class cricketer. He represented Central Districts, who compete under the name Central Stags, in domestic cricket, and also turned out for Nelson in the Hawke Cup competition.

Hay had a long association with the Central Stags and served as captain of the side. He is one of only two men to have lifted the Plunket Shield twice while leading the Central Stags, and he retired as one of only two players to have scored more than 7,000 first-class runs for the team.

He announced his retirement from competitive cricket in March 2024, bringing to a close a career spent largely with Central Districts and Nelson.
