Godavari is a 2006 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Sekhar Kammula and produced by G. V. G. Raju. The film stars Sumanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee in the lead roles, with music composed by K. M. Radha Krishnan.
The story follows Sriram, an idealistic political aspirant, and Sita, an independent fashion designer, as they undertake a transformative houseboat journey on the Godavari River. Travelling alongside a varied group of co-passengers, the two protagonists navigate personal struggles and an unexpected romance, gradually finding clarity and connection during the voyage to Bhadrachalam.
The film achieved significant commercial success at the box office and received unanimous critical acclaim. It won several Nandi Awards and Filmfare Awards. Godavari is widely regarded as a modern classic of Telugu cinema, appreciated for its subtle storytelling, realistic characters, and its evocative portrayal of the riverine journey through the Godavari region.
