Academic activity is organised into departments corresponding to the engineering disciplines offered, along with separate departments for management studies, computer applications, and applied sciences and humanities. The applied sciences and humanities department typically handles foundation courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, communication skills and environmental studies during the first year of the B.Tech. programme.
The campus is situated in Knowledge Park, Greater Noida, an area planned by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) specifically for educational institutions. The institute provides the standard infrastructure expected of a technical college, including:
Admissions to GLBITM follow the centralised counselling process of Uttar Pradesh for technical institutions. Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech. programme are admitted on the basis of their performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and the state-level counselling conducted by the designated authority. MBA admissions are typically based on management entrance examinations such as CMAT or the state counselling for MBA programmes, while MCA admissions follow the corresponding entrance route. A portion of the seats is filled through institutional or management quota as permitted by the regulating authorities.
