G H Raisoni University is a state private university located in Chhindwara, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It was established under the Madhya Pradesh state legislature as a private university and forms part of the Raisoni Group of Institutions, a network of educational institutes operating across central and western India. The Raisoni Group of Institutions, founded in memory of Shri Gulab Hiraji Raisoni, has built several engineering colleges and academic institutes, with its earliest and most prominent campuses in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Chhindwara campus was developed to extend the group's academic footprint into Madhya Pradesh, and was subsequently granted state private university status by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, allowing it to award its own degrees.
