Faasos was founded by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee. The brand began as a quick-service restaurant chain offering Indian-style wraps and kathi rolls, with outlets in cities such as Pune and Mumbai. Over time, the founders pivoted the business away from physical dine-in stores towards a delivery-only model operating from dedicated kitchens, an approach that came to be widely described as the "cloud kitchen" model.
The shift from storefront outlets to delivery-only kitchens allowed Faasos to lower real-estate costs and concentrate on order fulfilment through its own application as well as third-party aggregators. The parent company eventually rebranded itself as Rebel Foods, positioning Faasos as one of several internet-first restaurant brands operating from shared kitchen infrastructure.
Faasos operates alongside other brands incubated by Rebel Foods, including Behrouz Biryani, Oven Story Pizza, The Good Bowl, Sweet Truth and Firangi Bake. Multiple brands are typically run from a single kitchen location, allowing the company to serve different cuisines from the same premises while sharing kitchen infrastructure, supply chains and delivery logistics.
The Faasos menu is centred on Indian-style wraps and rolls with fillings such as paneer, chicken, mutton and egg. The brand has progressively expanded into rice bowls, biryani, and combination meals. Orders are placed through the Faasos and Rebel Foods applications, the company's website, and major food-delivery platforms.
Faasos is frequently cited as one of the early Indian examples of the delivery-only restaurant concept, and the experience of scaling the brand contributed to the formation of the broader cloud-kitchen platform under Rebel Foods. The model has since been emulated by several other Indian food-technology ventures.
