The university campus is located in the Sarfarazganj area of Hardoi Road in Lucknow, where the medical college and hospital are also situated.
Era University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes through several constituent faculties and colleges. Its academic activity is centred on health sciences, with programmes typically organised under areas such as:
Clinical training for medical, dental, and nursing students is conducted at Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital, which functions as the university's principal teaching hospital.
As a state private university in India, Era University is regulated under the framework laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Its professional health-science programmes are additionally subject to the regulatory oversight of the relevant statutory councils that govern medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health education in India.
Era University is among the private universities in Lucknow that focus substantially on health professional education. Together with institutions such as King George's Medical University and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, it contributes to the city's role as a major centre for medical education and clinical care in northern India.
