Ekta Kaul belongs to a Kashmiri Pandit family from Jammu. She moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting and entered the Hindi television industry in the early 2010s.
Kaul made her television debut with the Star Plus serial Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali, in which she played Radha, the female lead opposite Akshay Mhatre. The show, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, focused on the marital and family life of a young couple.
She subsequently took on the role of Survi in the Zee TV serial Yeh Vaada Raha, replacing the earlier lead actress in the show. The serial was an adaptation of the Korean drama That Winter, the Wind Blows.
Kaul has also appeared in other television projects and special episodes across Hindi general entertainment channels.
Ekta Kaul married Hindi film and web series actor Sumeet Vyas, known for his work in Permanent Roommates and Tripling. The couple have a son.
