Edward James McKenzie Cowan (born 16 June 1982) is an Australian former cricketer. A left-handed opening batsman, he played domestic first-class cricket primarily for New South Wales and Tasmania. He announced his retirement from first-class cricket in March 2018.

Cowan built his domestic career as a top-order batsman in Australian first-class cricket. He represented New South Wales and later Tasmania, where he was a regular fixture at the top of the order. After more than a decade in the domestic game, he announced his retirement from first-class cricket in March 2018.
As a specialist opening batsman, Cowan was associated with the traditional left-handed opener's role in Australian domestic cricket through the 2000s and 2010s, contributing to the line-ups of two leading state sides.
