Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, also known as RMLNLU or NLU Lucknow, is a public law school located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of the National Law Universities in the country and the first such institution established in Uttar Pradesh.
The university was originally set up as the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law Institute, offering undergraduate and post-graduate legal education. In 2006, it was renamed as Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University to align its identity with that of other National Law Universities.
RMLNLU is part of the network of 26 National Law Universities across India, which together form a prominent group of institutions devoted to legal education and research. The university is named after Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya, a noted figure associated with social and political thought in India.
