Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, also known as PDKV or PKV, is an agricultural university located at Akola in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, India. The university is named after Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, and functions as one of the state agricultural universities serving Maharashtra.
The university is entrusted with agricultural education, research and extension education in its area of operation. In addition, it carries out breeder and foundation seed programmes that support seed availability for farmers and allied agricultural activities in the region.
Its jurisdiction extends across all eleven districts of Vidarbha, namely Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Washim, Wardha and Yavatmal. Through this geographical mandate, the university addresses the agricultural needs and cropping systems characteristic of the Vidarbha region.
The central campus of the university is situated at Akola, which serves as the principal seat of academic and administrative activity. Another major campus operates at Nagpur, and a new campus has been established at Gadchiroli, extending the university's presence further within its jurisdiction.
