Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) is a public university located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. It serves as a major centre of higher education for the Marathwada region of the state.
The university is named after Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, an Indian social reformer and political leader who chaired the committee that drafted the Constitution of India. It was established on 23 August 1958.
Spread over 725 acres, the campus is the largest university campus in Maharashtra in terms of total area.
