Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is a state public university located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, India. It serves as the principal affiliating and teaching university for several districts of central Maharashtra and is named after the jurist, social reformer and architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

The university was established to meet the higher-education needs of the Marathwada region, which had historically been part of the princely state of Hyderabad before its integration with India. After the linguistic reorganisation of states and the formation of Maharashtra, a dedicated university for the region was created at Aurangabad.
