Dipendra Singh Airee (Nepali: दिपेन्द्र सिंह ऐरी; born 24 January 2000) is a Nepalese cricketer who represents the Nepal national cricket team and captains its Twenty20 International (T20I) side. An all-rounder, he is widely regarded as one of Nepal's leading cricketers and has featured in several landmark moments for Nepalese cricket, including the country's first One Day International and the fastest fifty in the history of T20Is.

Career

International debut

In August 2018, Airee was one of the eleven cricketers selected to play in Nepal's first-ever One Day International, played against the Netherlands. The fixture marked Nepal's entry into ODI cricket following its acquisition of ODI status, and Airee was part of this historic XI.

Captaincy

Airee captains Nepal's T20I team, leading the side in bilateral and multilateral competitions.

Records and milestones

  • Fastest fifty in T20Is: During the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, Airee scored a half-century off just 9 balls against Mongolia, setting the record for the fastest fifty in men's T20I cricket.
  • Six sixes in an over: In April 2024, during the ACC Men's Premier Cup, Airee struck six consecutive sixes in an over against Qatar. He became the first Nepalese batter and the third player overall to achieve the feat in T20Is.

Airee's achievements have contributed to Nepal's growing profile in international cricket.
