Dhanamanjuri University (often abbreviated as DM University or DMU) is a state public university located in Imphal, in the Imphal West district of Manipur, India. The university was constituted by bringing together a cluster of long-established colleges in Imphal that had previously functioned as affiliated institutions of Manipur University.

The university takes its name from the Dhanamanjuri (DM) College of Arts, one of the oldest higher education institutions in Manipur, which together with associated colleges in Imphal formed the nucleus of the new university. These constituent colleges had historically been among the principal centres for undergraduate and postgraduate education in the Manipur valley, offering programmes in arts, science, and commerce.
The Government of Manipur upgraded this cluster of colleges into a unitary state university in order to consolidate teaching, research, and administration under a single institution while retaining the identity of the constituent colleges.

The institution preserves the academic legacy of the DM College group, which had played a notable role in the development of modern education in Manipur during the twentieth century, while expanding the scope of university-level instruction and research in the region.
