Location and setting

The school is situated in Noida, short for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, a city established in 1976 in the floodplain region between the Yamuna and the Hindon Rivers. Noida is widely regarded as one of the most systematically planned cities in India, and was designed under the NCR planning strategy to decentralise growth from Delhi.

Noida is frequently ranked among India's greenest cities, with substantial green cover including botanical gardens and biodiversity parks, and an emphasis on sustainable development and high-quality landscaping. The city is managed and maintained by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA), while the administrative headquarters of Gautam Buddha Nagar district are located in the nearby city of Greater Noida.

Noida falls within the Noida (Vidhan Sabha) constituency and the Gautam Buddha Nagar (Lok Sabha) constituency. According to provisional reports of the Census of India, the population of Noida in 2011 was 642,381. In 2015, Noida was ranked the "Best City in Uttar Pradesh" in the "Best City Awards" conducted by ABP News.

Economic and urban environment

Noida has evolved into a prominent economic centre, with concentrations of information technology firms, electronics assembly, automotive production, logistics facilities and news broadcasting houses. It is a leading mobile manufacturing hub in India, hosting facilities of Samsung, Xiaomi, Google Pixel, Vivo and OPPO. The Gautam Buddha Nagar district, which includes Noida, Greater Noida and YEIDA City, contributes over 10% to the Uttar Pradesh GSDP.
