Deepti has represented Uttar Pradesh in Indian domestic women's cricket, featuring in the senior inter-state one-day and Twenty20 tournaments organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). She has also played in the Women's T20 Challenge and the Women's Premier League (WPL), where she was signed by the UP Warriorz franchise and appointed in a senior leadership role within the side.
Deepti made her One Day International debut for India in 2014 against South Africa. She subsequently established herself as a frontline spinner and useful middle-order batter. Notable highlights of her international career include:
She has consistently featured in the ICC rankings for women's all-rounders and bowlers in limited-overs cricket.
Deepti is a flighted off-spinner who relies on accuracy, subtle changes of pace and the use of the crease rather than big turn. With the bat she is technically correct, capable of opening the innings or stabilising the middle order, and has scored centuries in ODI cricket as well as contributing useful lower-order runs in T20Is.
Deepti Sharma is among the most prominent products of Uttar Pradesh women's cricket and has been part of the generation of Indian women cricketers who established the team as a regular contender at ICC global events. Her dual contribution with bat and ball has made her a long-term fixture in India's playing eleven across formats.
