Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, informally known as Gorakhpur University, is a state university located in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. It functions as a teaching and residential-cum-affiliating university, catering to students from the city as well as affiliated colleges across the region.
The university campus lies about two kilometres east of the downtown area of Gorakhpur and is within walking distance of the city's railway station to the south, making it readily accessible to students and visitors.
The institution has been accredited with an A++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), placing it among the leading state universities in the country. It is noted as the first university in Uttar Pradesh to achieve a NAAC score of 3.78.
