Beyond English domestic cricket, Malan has played in multiple Twenty20 leagues around the world. In the Indian Premier League, he has represented the Punjab Kings.
Malan is regarded as one of England's leading Twenty20 batters of his era, noted for his record-setting ICC T20I rating of 915 in 2020 and his membership of the small group of England batters to have scored a T20I hundred. His career also coincides with England's white-ball success in the early 2020s, including the 2022 T20 World Cup triumph.
