Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Limited (commonly known as Chola MS) is an Indian general insurance firm headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It operates as a joint venture between the Murugappa Group, one of India's diversified business conglomerates, and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group of Japan. The company offers a range of non-life insurance products covering motor, health, travel, accident, property, marine and engineering risks for both retail and corporate customers.

Chola MS was formed as a partnership between the Chennai-based Murugappa Group, through its financial services arm Cholamandalam, and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, a major Japanese non-life insurer. The venture was set up after the Indian general insurance sector was opened to private participation following the enactment of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999.
The Murugappa Group, founded in 1900, has interests across financial services, engineering, abrasives, agri-inputs, sugar and bio-products. Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance is part of the MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, headquartered in Tokyo.
