Chanakya National Law University, Patna

Overview

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) is a public law school and a National Law University located in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Bihar through Bihar Act 24 of 2006 as a public university dedicated to legal education.

CNLU is one of the autonomous law schools in India, forming part of the network of National Law Universities established by various state legislatures to advance the study of law and allied disciplines. The Chief Justice of the Patna High Court serves as the ex officio Chancellor of the university.

The university's campus is situated in the Mithapur area, near the heart of Patna, and spans approximately 18 acres. Named after Chanakya, the ancient Indian scholar and statesman, the institution is engaged in legal education and research.
