Biswajeet Chatterjee (born 14 December 1936), known mononymously as Biswajeet or Biswajit, is a veteran Indian actor associated with Bengali and Hindi cinema. Over the course of his career, he has also worked as a producer, director and singer, and has been involved in politics.
Biswajeet established himself as a leading man in Bengali films before extending his work to Hindi cinema, where he became a familiar face during a long innings on screen. His filmography spans a range of genres, and he has been associated with songs from his films as a playback contributor as well.
In addition to acting, Biswajeet has taken on responsibilities behind the camera as a producer and director. He is generally referred to as a veteran of Indian cinema in light of his sustained body of work across decades and across two major film industries.
