Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University is a state university located in Dhanbad, in the state of Jharkhand, India. The university serves the coal-belt region of Jharkhand and provides higher education facilities to students across the Dhanbad and Bokaro districts.
The university oversees a network of colleges in its jurisdiction, comprising 13 constituent colleges and 23 affiliated colleges. In addition, it includes institutions offering professional and specialised programmes such as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), law, nursing, medical and pharmacy courses.
Academic activity at the university is organised through 28 postgraduate departments, which together offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across the arts, sciences, commerce and professional disciplines. The university is officially recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
