Bhayavadar is a small town in the Upleta region of Rajkot district in the Saurashtra peninsula of Gujarat. The station provides rail connectivity to nearby towns and serves both passenger and local goods traffic typical of branch-line stations in the region.
The Saurashtra rail network, of which Bhayavadar is a part, was historically developed under the princely-era Bhavnagar State Railway and Saurashtra Railway, before being merged into the Western Railway zone after the reorganisation of Indian Railways in 1951. Many lines in this region have since been progressively converted from metre gauge to broad gauge under Project Unigauge.
The station functions primarily as a halt for the local population of Bhayavadar and surrounding villages, supporting access to larger urban centres such as Rajkot, Jetalsar and Junagadh for trade, education and employment.
