The station functions primarily as a halt for MMTS suburban services that connect the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad with the western suburbs. It lies on the route linking Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally) with Lingampally, passing through stations such as Khairatabad, Necklace Road, Begumpet, Hi-Tech City and others depending on the service pattern.
Bharat Nagar is served by MMTS local trains, which provide frequent intra-city connectivity for daily commuters travelling to commercial hubs including Begumpet, Secunderabad, Hi-Tech City and Lingampally. The station handles short-distance suburban passenger traffic rather than long-distance express services.
As a suburban halt, the station contributes to the decongestion of road traffic in western Hyderabad by offering a low-cost rail option for office workers, students and residents of the surrounding colonies. It is part of the broader effort by South Central Railway and the Government of Telangana to expand suburban rail usage in the Hyderabad metropolitan region.
