The station is one of sixteen stops on the approximately 19 km Yellow Line, which runs largely along Hosur Road. Beratena Agrahara is located between Hosa Road and Electronic City stations, serving residential pockets and commercial establishments in the Bommanahalli zone of BBMP.
The Yellow Line was sanctioned as part of Phase 2 of the Namma Metro expansion, which extended the network southward from RV Road towards the Electronic City IT hub and onward to Bommasandra. Civil construction on the corridor began in the mid-2010s, with the elevated viaduct along Hosur Road being built alongside the existing road and the Electronic City elevated expressway.
Like other stations on the Yellow Line, Beratena Agrahara is built as an elevated structure with a concourse level above the road and platforms on the upper level. The station provides access through staircases, escalators and lifts, with provisions for ticketing, security screening and passenger amenities in line with BMRCL standards.
The station is positioned along Hosur Road and is served by BMTC bus routes operating on this arterial corridor. It is intended to provide last-mile access for nearby residential layouts and the southern industrial and IT belt of the city.
The Yellow Line is expected to connect the central and southern parts of Bengaluru with major employment centres including Electronic City, Bommasandra Industrial Area and the Jigani belt. Beratena Agrahara, as an intermediate station, is intended to ease commuter pressure on Hosur Road, one of the most congested arterial roads in the city.
